Editorials By Ellie: The Lame Stream Media

By: Ellie

Dear Lame-Stream Media types, I’d like to have a discussion about your sense of fair play……you have  none!

Dana Millbank of the Washington Post is a prime example. His Sept. 22nd column was incredibly irritating to anyone who expects an even handed approach.

Millbank spent two columns worth of his disdain for the 47% issue Mitt Romney is currently being pilloried for.

CONTEXT, Dana, CONTEXT!

Mitt Romney was at a fundraiser and was discussing campaign strategy. The 47% will likely never vote for him, not realistic to spend campaign time or treasure on that group, and I’d like to point out Gov. Romney did NOT use the word “Moocher” but every single lame-streamer made sure to include it in their analysis.

Context is so-o-o important that all the lame-streamers had their knickers in knots for days after Barack Obama made clear that “YOU didn’t build THAT“.  It was SO important for all us slackers to understand the CONTEXT. After all everyone KNEW the President was talking about the roads and bridges….well, I’m still not convinced, but anyway.

Apparently Millbank didn’t watch the Republican Convention.  A number of ordinary people testified to the very personal attention Gov. Romney gave them when they or their families needed help. These kindnesses were extended far away from cameras or reporters and are part of Romney’s personality….very Presidential in my opinion.

I would challenge Millbank to find similar (true, not manufactured) stories involving the Obamas and the Bidens.

Tax returns provided by the Romneys’ demonstrate that they walk the talk, consistently giving upwards of 30% of their income to charity.  Personally, I was incredibly offended in 2008 to learn of the paltry, almost non-existent charitable donations made by Obama and Biden. As a percentage of income, I actually gave far more to charity than either of them.  So upon hearing this I decided right then to contribute only to political campaigns until they were out of office, something I had never done before.

The hypocrisy of this administration and the media who are carrying their water for them are beneath contempt and encourage me every day to work as hard as possible to replace Obama/Biden and just IGNORE the “lame-streamers”.

Editorials from Ellie: What I appreciate about the Washington Post…

By Ellie

Washington Post Archives
One of the only things I appreciate about WaPo is that they archive the columns of Dana Millbank and at least they are honest enough to categorize his writings as “left leaning”!

Millbank irritates me a lot but these days, but I’m spending more time volunteering to un-elect Barack Obama then in keeping up with Dana’s warped, snarky take on current events.  Recently he was opining that the lame-streamers should go easier on Gov. Romney because his “gaffes” we’re so plentiful. It would be a long four years if he was defeated and Obama was reelected.

Why?
“President Obama has many talents, but he is not good copy. He speaks grammatically, in fully formed paragraphs. He has yet to produce a scandal of any magnitude. He is maddeningly on message, and his few gaffes — “you didn’t build that,” “the private sector is doing fine” — are inflammatory only out of context. If it weren’t for the occasional relief offered by Joe Biden, the Samaritans would have installed a suicide-prevention hotline in the White House press room by now.”

There Millbank still is, knots in his kickers about “context”!  An attribute he can’t bring himself to extend to Gov. Romney or any others Republican candidate or politician.

So, context not withstanding, let’s look at the fact that Obama also can’t recall what the Nation debts was when he was elected..does he at least know he’s added another $5 TRILLION to it!  That being true I wonder about a number of other things the President can’t recall….

  • Price of gas in January 2009
  • Unemployment  #, the REAL one that includes those who’ve dropped out
  • # of citizens who are on Food Stamps or SS Disability during his term
  • # of Executive Orders he has signed
  • Jobs lost when Solyndra failed
  • Oh, and he also FORGOT to meet with his Jobs council for over 6 mos.

…and on and on. By any realistic measure, this Administration has been a total failure, not withstanding the “left-leaning” intentionally clueless Dana Millbank

Tea Party Talk Guest: Finding Love at the Movies

By: Ellie Lockwood

I think I fell in love today! I went to see “2016: Obama’s America” and met Dinesh D’Souza, the writer and director of this film. His life story is much more interesting and uplifting than the bizarre odyssey of Barack Obama.

D’Souza, an immigrant from India charmingly introduces himself in the opening minutes of the film and it is by far the best part. As he talks about how he went about fitting in during his college years, his sense of humor in educating some of his American fellow students to the realities of life growing up in India, which were not so different than the experiences Obama had as a youngster in Indonesia, and the appreciation he developed for the opportunities in the US.

Stunningly Dinesh is the same age as Barack Obama. He graduated from Dartmouth the same year that Obama graduated from Columbia; they even married in the same year. But there the similarities end. D’Souza, like so many immigrants I have met since April 2009, totally understands and appreciates what it means to be an American. Barack Obama, as the film goes on to point out, has a totally different and foreign perspective which is out of sync with the country he is now responsible for leading.

D’Souza traveled extensively to the locations that were important in shaping Barack Obama’s life experiences, he’s even seen trying out the Hula (a little lamely) while doing research in Hawaii. He meets with people who knew both of Obama’s parents, speaks with relatives. I have been aware of many of the back stories that are looked at in this film so there were no “aha!” moments in D’Souza’s narrative for me. However, these were recorded in great detail by Washington Post movie reviewer Michael O’Sullivan but I totally disagree that the movie is “a slick infomercial” or a “bashing…but with a velvet gloved fist.” O’Sullivan, appears to be so offended that a segment of the population does not adore the President, he completely missed noting, or taking into consideration, the incredible similarities of the two men that produced such widely different attitudes. How could two young men with so much commonality develop two such different world views? Without a doubt I prefer the “buttery smoothness” of a D’Souza to the arrogant and secretive Obama.

The theater was full for the 2:20 show on a Saturday afternoon which surprised me. While O’Sullivan may think the “franchise’s hard-core” were being pandered to, I can assure him, and everyone else, no one in the audience was bored.

Joan’s Journal, A good court case…

“We cannot be free, without being secure in our property … we cannot be secure in our property, if, without our consent, others may, as by right, take it away…”

~John Dickinson

“Our founders clearly revealed their central purpose was defending Americans’ rights and liberties against encroachment, particularly by an overbearing national government. The Supreme Court’s major purpose is preventing such overstepping. That requires following the Constitution as the highest law of the land in fact as well as on paper, because as George Mason put it, “no free government, or the blessings of liberty, can be preserved to any people but by… frequent recurrence to fundamental principles.”

http://www.csmonitor.com/Business/The-Circle-Bastiat/2010/0419/Our-Founding-Fathers-thoughts-on-the-Supreme-Court

It is important to note that the Supreme Court this time lived up to the job they were untrusted to do.  The EPA wields much power these days.  The Supreme Courts job should be to protect us from governmental agencies like the EPA, whose belief is that they are the ultimate authority.  I am posting this article because it is important to know about this decision.  Unfortunately, in some circumstances, court decisions and arguments now rely more on the precedences set in the courtroom than the actual laws.  This is a good precedent!

Please read this article and “be informed”.

Joan’s Journal, A battle against our nation…

“Our foolish policy in Iraq invites terrorist attacks against U.S. territory and incites the Islamic fundamentalists against us.”

~Ron Paul

U.S. House of Representatives, February 2, 1999 [24]

Here is an article:

Remembering The First American Military Warriors Who Fought Against Islamic Terrorists From 1801-1805

that talks about Thomas Jeffersons “wake-up call”  when dealing with the muslim leaders of his time.  This was before there was a nation of Israel and American military bases in Saudi Arabia. It was at a time when, “All America wanted to do was to pass by the open seas and engage in fair trade.”

In this article:

  • Why did our nation form its first national Navy?
  • At that time in history were Americans terrorized by Muslims?
  • Has America ever paid a nonmuslim tax or jizya?

I recommend this article and the watching of the two videos to learn about our American history with muslim terroristsAfter…What do you think of Ron Paul’s quote?

Here is a link for an article you will want to read:

UN to propose planetary regulations of water, food

Two links to also take note of and take a look at are:
1.     “The report, “21 Issues for the 21st Century,” from the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) Foresight Process, is the culmination of a two-year deliberative process involving 22 core scientists. It is expected to receive considerable attention in the run-up to the Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, which will be held in Rio, Brazil, in June.”
2.     “The State Dept. has already weighed in on many of the issues presented by the Foresight Panel in its own statement, titled “Sustainable Development for the Next Twenty Years United States Views on RIO+20.”
It is not too early to begin talking to our US Senators and Congressman about the dangers of UN Agenda 21.

Conversations with Carole, Can you, in good conscience, buy Girl Scout cookies?

Can you, in good conscience, buy Girl Scout cookies?

Why would I be asking this question? Well for one reason, this year’s sale of Girl Scout cookies starts next month. On February 24th tables will be manned in front of local Giant grocery stores as those cute young ladies in their Girl Scout uniforms try to tempt us to plunk down our money on expensive cookies. Yes, some of the money stays with the troop but only about 10%. Talk about a cheap labor force. 70% goes to the local GS council and the remainder goes to the baker.
Why does buying a box of cookie become such a question of conscience?
Let’s go back for a minute. I was a Brownie and a Girl Scout. My two daughters were in Brownies and in Girl Scouts. Countless hours spent doing good deeds, earning and sewing on patches, and taking part in projects and meetings.
I cannot ever remember during that time ever considering the “political” or “social” aspects of the Girl Scouts. It was an organization which helped to form young girl’s morals, minds and fellowship. The Girl Scouts are about to celebrate their 100 years as an organization. When did they start to change?
Hard to say but certainly the change had begun in earnest while my daughters were participating. Silently and under cover changes were definitely underway.
I have to say the more I researched this group the more repulsed and disgusted I have become. You may now be asking WHAT could have caused such strong words!
Do you know that there are many disturbing direct connections between the Girl Scouts and many issues that run counter to the values of many Girl Scout families? The sheer quantity of the indirect connections when taken together, paint an overall picture that is difficult to dismiss as just simple coincidence.
When you start looking at these issues you soon realize that many of them are extremely offensive!
The Girl Scouts have declared 2012 “ The Year of the Girl” How sweet! BUT they also announced that they will be “working to break down the barriers that prevent girls from leading their own lives” What the heck does that mean?
The Girl Scouts have been “pro-choice” for years but now they are actively and without any reserve, teaching our young innocent girls about any manner of deviant and promiscuous sex.
Do you know that despite many denials there is definitely a partnership between the Girl Scouts and Planned Parenthood?

At a United Nations conference in March 2010, Girl Scouts of the USA was the main sponsor of a “Girls Only” workshop. Their co-sponsors were UNICEF, Girls Learn International, and The Grail.
While UNICEF helps needy children throughout the word, in recent years they have also focused on children’s rights, including sexual rights.
Girls Learn International has two of the most prominent radical feminists in the world on its board—Gloria Steinem and Charlotte Bunch. Charlotte Bunch authored a radical document on political lesbianism in the 1970s
The Grail was originally founded as a conservative Catholic entity, but in the 60s and 70s it began to develop “a feminist liberation theology that emphasized the interconnections between racism, sexism, classism, heterosexism, and environmental degradation.”
Do you know they have a “Sex Guide”

World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (also known as WAGGGS) and the Girl Scouts of America are both close financial & partners and at this UN Conference the booklet “Healthy, Happy and Hot” published by Planned Parenthood was widely seen.
Why did GSUSA allow their logo to be printed on a Planned Parenthood’s brochure advertising a controversial event “Nobody’s Fool: Dating, Love, Sex, and HIV?”
Why does GSUSA as part of a badge requirement send girls to kidshealth.org, a website that refers girls to Planned Parenthood in their teen section?
Why did the Girl Scouts feature Marie Wilson, staunch abortion supporter and defender of Planned Parenthood as a keynote speaker at a national Girl Scout Convention?
Why does a Girl Scout workbook encourage girls to explore the website of Media Matters for America, an organization that aggressively defends Planned Parenthood funding on its website alongside Moveon.org and NARAL Pro-Choice America.
Why did Girl Scouts select as a role model for girls Adrienne Germain (one of the world’s most prominent abortion rights activists) by honoring her as a “Woman of Distinction”?
Is it really the role of the Girl Scouts to facilitate discussions on controversial sexual issues away from girls’ families?
Are parents aware that GSUSA’s World Thinking Day activity pack for girls ages 6-18 explores the topics of “sexual reproductive rights”?

Are parents aware that as part of the requirements for an Aids badge that Girl Scouts can earn through WAGGGS, Girl Scouts are encouraged to promote condoms?

GSUSA is an active member of several organizations that aggressively promote LGBT rights
and the GSUSA website, in multiple places, refers girls to other websites and organizations that actively promote LGBT rights.

As recently as last year the Girl Scouts went one step further in their radical agenda admitting a cross dressing 7 year old boy into a Colorado based troop.

This one I find highly questionable. At the GSUSA 2011 Convention their girls learned about “Moving beyond Diversity to Inclusion,” an event that addressed diversity beyond the traditional “gender and ethnicity model” to prepare for a “new world order of globalization?”

Of the more than 50 women listed as role models for girls in the Girl Scout Journey books, why are there only three conservative women of faith? (Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman and Mother Teresa)?

Have you read enough yet?
If not you can check out the website 100questionsfor the girlscouts.org where most but not all of this information came from.
If you have daughters or grand-daughters who are members of the Girl Scouts you may want to consider having them join the American Heritage Girls instead.
American Heritage Girls is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through service to God, family, community and country. The organization offers badge programs, service projects, girl leadership opportunities and outdoor experiences to its members. This program of character building has successfully served thousands of girls since its inception and will continue to do so long into the 21st century.

Joan’s Journal, Glenn Beck is he calling the Tea Party members racist?

Here is the interview Glenn Beck did with Newt Gingrich: Part 1

Part 2:

Here is Beck’s talking about Newt and Roosevelt on his radio show after the interview:

Genn Beck on Judge Napolitano’s show:

So what do you think?

Glenn to me is saying, that Gingrich and Obama are both “Big Government” progressives. So if you would vote for Gingrich, who is not any different than Obama, the only difference is you must be against Obama’s race that is why you are not choosing Obama over Gingrich.

I am offended by Glenn Beck’s statement. Did Gingrich sit in a church for 20 years listening to a preacher damn the United States of America? I do not think so nor do I think that Gingrich is not sincere about his love for our country. Obama does not love this country or believe in the founders of this country. He is not in support of this Constitution and would change it if he could.

Newt Gingrich has researched the founding of this country, has wrote about it, and believes in it. In this there is no similarities of these 2 men. Obama has studied the Constitution but only to find ways to work around it to get his ideologies accomplished.

There are many ways in which these 2 men are not similar so for Beck to make a blanket statement as he has done and bring the race card into the Tea Party is appalling!

I have always been a supporter of Glenn Beck and thank God for his part in helping to awaken the country but I have been reading comments from other supporters that he is losing it!

As I watch GBTV and his radio show I too wonder if he is becoming “too big for his britches”. Sometimes It appears he wants to regulate Americans in his own way…

Conversations with Carole, America America…. Where are you going?

America America….   Where are you going?

Here we are America, just a couple of weeks away from celebrating what should be a joyous occasion for a hugh percentage of our country yet I feel  betrayed, battered  and bloodied by all I see and hear. From the newspapers to the television, from the Internet to conversations with friends and family it seems we are under a constant stream of negative, hostile and discouraging information.

From unbelievable acts of violence, to disgusting behavior in our city streets we get a relentless bombardment of filth and venom from the left leaning members of society.

We see public officials, from the President downwards, taking every step and every opportunity to cheat and steal from the average American person & family.

We see our members of Congress unfairly taking advantage of their positions.

We see good people trying to do their best been attacked and vilified for trying to do the “right thing”

We see groups standing up and making demands that only enhance their views while destroying anyone who does not agree with them.

We see dishonest government officials flouting their stands and making it clear they believe they acted without malice.

We see large corporations like Boeing bow down to unions in the belief that to not do so will jeopardize future governmental contracts.  Of course, this is more than likely true!

We see our churches bending over backwards to accommodate the growing demands of a community that wishes their congregations gone and their buildings turned into mosques.

We see Christians around the World who are living under the constant threat of a violent and bloody death and our Government says nothing.

We see our Government passing laws and taking steps to confiscate our Nations wild lands, our rivers, our very homes and property.

We see our military leaving contrails across our skies. What are they spreading? What harm are they doing to our trees, our soil and our bodies?

We see the highest law enforcement officer of the land, Eric Holder, evade, lie and mock our elected officials as though the questions they are asking are a big joke.  We see him casually talk of the death of a Border Patrol officer as is if it was just another day at the office.

We hear that next week our State Department will meet in Washington to discuss with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) religious intolerance. Real meaning is to be the restricting of speech critical of Islam. Read here, a direct attack on our Freedom of Speech.

Tolerance should be a two way street but I see no hope of this!

We see a President who has divided this Country more than anyone could ever imagine in so many ways, by class, by economics and by race.

Have we, the average American citizen, have we had enough?

I do believe we have!

So rather than dwell each day with so much negativity I am vowing to spend the rest of 2011 looking for the positive, looking for the good things and thanking God for allowing me to live in the greatest Country in the World.

The Sun is shining, the radio dial is reset to a station playing CHRISTMAS carols and a family, here in Virginia, is getting reacquainted with their family dog, lost eight years ago and recently found and returned to Virginia by a kind lady in Sacramento California.

Happy Christmas !

~Carole
